The Mission

I founded Behavior Building Blocks in 2015 with the mission of providing quality ABA therapy and ABA-based services that are individualized to clients and their families in the San Antonio area.  It is my aim to increase communication, social, academic, and functional skills, while decreasing challenging behaviors, with the overarching goal of improving lifelong outcomes and the quality of life for my clients and their families.  It is my belief that every individual with a disability has the ability to learn, set goals, and make progress on their goals in order to achieve great things and participate meaningfully in their families and communities.  As such, I believe every individual and their family deserves to have quality services that help them to actualize their goals.

My name is Alexandria Arriaga and I am the owner and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) behind Behavior Building Blocks.  I have experience using ABA therapy to work with individuals with developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disabilities in the public school, home, community, and clinical settings. My interest in working in the field of special education began while working at the Kids' Involvement Network (KIN) program in the Northeast ISD.  I met some amazing children who changed my perspective on life and education.  I went on to get my bachelor's degree in special education from the University of Texas at San Antonio and taught in special education units designed for students with autism at the elementary and secondary levels in the San Antonio ISD and Northeast ISD.  While teaching, I earned my master's degree from Texas State University in special education with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis and autism spectrum disorders. Upon earning my master's degree, I went on to work as a behavior specialist with the San Antonio ISD and after passing my board certification exam to become a BCBA, I then worked as a BCBA for the San Antonio ISD.  In 2015, I decided to open Behavior Building Blocks in order to continue to support individuals with disabilities in the San Antonio community by providing quality ABA services to clients and their families in a variety of settings.
